This is Barbara’s second book (her first being ‘Mo, Cat of My Heart’) and I think it’s a much better written book. Her research is very well carried out and each stand-alone story has a lot of information about the working cat.

It’s a very interesting book all about cats who ‘work’ in stores or libraries as greeters, rodent population control monitors and other assorted duties as they see fit. For many people who live in pet-free apartments, or because they have allergies, it’s nice for them to be able to pet a cat who is gentle and kind in a non-threatening environment.

I’m not sure if we have many ‘working’ cats in the UK other than, perhaps, on farms, but from Barbara’s research, she found a number – and all their stories are a great delight.

This book can be bought directly from Barbara for $10.95 and you can contact her here: bee642@msn.com or on her website:

One Cat is Company

"One cat is company.
Two cats are a conspiracy.
Three cats is an attempted takeover.
Four or more cats is a complete coup!"
