Boo

Last fall about the time of Halloween, my husband Nick and I were off to bed. Nick had just laid down when suddenly he sat up and then looked out the window. Of course I asked, "What’s wrong?"

 "I thought I heard a voice.  I thought maybe Travis was home and he is not, so maybe I didn’t turn off the TV." he replied.

He entered from the hallway and looked left toward the TV and saw that it was off. All of a sudden he heard a strange voice again and it was coming from the kitchen.

Somewhat scared that someone was in our home, he turned to his right and saw Boo, our kitten, who was sitting on the counter with his foot on the answering machine button. After fits of laughter, by which time I had joined my husband now in the kitchen to see what was going on, we returned to bed with the kitten, appropriately named Boo.
