Upturned 'sweetie' bucket‘Hey, Casey, Mum was surprised the other morning when she got up, wasn’t she?’

‘Oh, you mean when she found that the sweetie bucket had been tipped over and there were sweeties all over the floor?’

‘Yes. That was hilarious, wasn’t it?’

‘I think Mum was impressed with our skills, Gibbs, although she didn’t say anything at the time.’

‘Do you think we should have told her it was Sheldon?’

‘She might have deduced that it was him anyway, Gibbs, because we don’t usually do things like that, do we?’

‘Well, we told Sheldon, if he wants to be in our gang, he’d have to prove his mettle.’

‘I didn’t expect him to tackle the sweetie bucket though, did you?’

No, Casey.  I thought he might have left a mouse, or a hairball or something; something that didn’t take her ages to clear up. All that bending over hurt her back again.’

‘Not to mention that bright red face she wore for ages, Gibbs.’

‘I’m not sure I’m cut out to be in a gang, Casey.’

Sheldon taking a nap on the unit‘Nor me, Gibbs.  Whiskery Blinders might not see the light of day if Sheldon keeps doing things like that.’

‘Trouble is, Casey, he’s only got a dog as a friend, and I think he likes hanging out with us. Plus our house is much quieter than his.  I’m sure he only comes in so he can have a six-hour nap in peace.’

‘True, Gibbs.  We’ll have to think of something less tumultuous for him to do.  Remember, we had to wait a while for our breakfast because it took Mum a long time to clear up all the sweeties. We can’t have our mealtimes tampered with.’

‘Back to the drawing board, Casey.’

A Cats Purr

"Cats make one of the most satisfying sounds in the world: they purr ...

A purring cat is a form of high praise, like a gold star on a test paper. It is reinforcement of something we would all like to believe about ourselves - that we are nice."
