When I first overcame my Techno-Phobia and got Webtv to be online I never dreamed how it would affect Sweetums! The usual routine of lying on my bed in later afternoon and evening to watch TV and cuddle with her was suddenly altered!

This Alteration of Routine was NOT Accepted by Sweetums very well at all!

Her time was being interfered with due to her 'Human Possession' (Me) who was NOT devoting the usual time to lying on the bed providing her 'Cuddle-Pillow' (Me).

One morning I came out to the living room and turned the WebTv ON ~ Nothing Happened! After trying several more times... I examined the WEBTV Unit!

OMG! Out of the entire house, Sweetums had chosen to throw up IN the Unit! Short-Circuited it!

Was it INTENTIONAL? We will never know! (I suspect it was!)

But one thing is for sure ~ Mission Accomplished! I could NOT be online that day.

When I exchanged the unit which was still under Warranty at Sears ~ Trust me...I did NOT tell them that the Cat threw up in it!

When I returned home with the new unit I placed it in a different location where I knew she could NOT get on it at all!

I knew that our time together was Precious ~ and goes by way too fast ~ so I spent less and less time online and more and more time cuddling with Sweetums.

I had 19 Love filled years of Purrs. Being a Feline (spirit/soul) myself... Sweetums was My Feline Soul Sister!

I had some of her ashes put into a Black and Silver Pendant .. to wear close to my heart.

I never washed her favorite pink rug ... I wanted to keep her essence and smell that was connected to it ... and I placed it on one end of my water bed.

After losing her at Halloween 2007 ~ I would often hug that little pink rug ... as the tears flowed endlessly.

What cruel twist of fate is it that our beloved animal companions never outlive us?

Why do the Heartaches and Pain make us feel as if part of our own Spirit has died?

One answer may be:

Their Leaving Opens Another Door For Another New Companion To Love

Is it truly better to Love and Lose than Never to Have Loved at all?

Listen to the song THE DANCE by Garth Brooks - it says it all.

I may have missed the pain

But I would have had to miss the Dance!

A Cats Purr

"Cats make one of the most satisfying sounds in the world: they purr ...

A purring cat is a form of high praise, like a gold star on a test paper. It is reinforcement of something we would all like to believe about ourselves - that we are nice."
