MaineCoon Cats: Furry, Adorable and BIG
Maine Coon cats are the largest domestic cats in the world. Some of them are so big that they can rival the size of smaller pups like beagles, poodles and pugs.
Have no worries, though, because they are known as the “Gentle Giants” for a very good reason!
MaineCoon Cat Characteristics
Maine Coon cats are super furry, weigh up to 20 pounds (8 to 12 on average) and stretch up to a length of 40 inches.
Common features cats include:
This very special breed of cat also happens to be incredibly easy to groom.
Maine Coon cats are loyal and gentle. They get along not only with kids, but with other pets as well. Some owners have even reported them getting along with birds, as hard as that may be to believe.
Maine Coon cats love to play outdoors, and they are not the type of cat apt to just sit in the corner and watch. They prefer to follow along and try to "help" where they can.
They are in effect the perfect companion for dog people who want a more low-maintenance alternative. Remember, unlike dogs, Maine Coon cats know how to use a litter box!
This cat breed is defiantly worth looking into if you are in the market for a new addition to your family!
