One thing I share with you humans is an increasing intolerance of dark, grey, miserable winters. From early November to the end of February, all four of us limit our travels, hardly bother the neighbours and sleep for much longer if that’s possible.

You can kill yourself eventually through eating rubbish. But you can do it much quicker through the stress that accumulates in your cells.

JimmySeasonal Affective Disorder [S.A.D.] impacts on us too!

Well, what do we do about it? I’ve heard my keepers planning to have a series of engaging projects next winter, and get away to sunnier climes [Greece] more often. I also gather they plan to buy a host of S.A.D light bulbs.

An insider tells me your governments are contemplating issuing light bulbs to make you more fearful and depressed. And as they are free, it’s guaranteed all stocks will be cleared out.

Trouble is, all this nonsense doesn’t help us felines. In fact it causes us problems.

Your public services are being cut to the bone, fuel prices are going through the roof, bank bonuses are on the up, child poverty is rampant, levels of sickness and illness are rocketing, more of you are losing your jobs…but hey, Cheryl Cole has had a new £5000 hair cut, and apparently two work shy over-privileged people are getting married soon. And you are being given the day off! Can it get any better?

When I lived at the plant nursery, my keepers were suffering from acute stress, and one of my siblings, Ch’Bee took it upon herself to absorb some of it. It didn’t take a genius to work out they were stressed, but until recently, they had no idea how it was affecting them.

My male keeper used to enjoy telling people how he had never been physically ill [save colds etc.] in his whole life. He had a nervous breakdown nine years ago after years of over-working and the death of his mother. However, a combination of over-working [this is one lesson he seems destined never to learn] and stress since Christmas knocked him sideways a few weeks ago. The symptoms were those of gall bladder problems - acutely so.

What has pulled him out of it is a combination of healing, using a process called the Healing Codes, and a strict diet change. He has taken no ‘medicine.’

My diet is cat food. I like cat ‘biscuits.’ I think living on what I could catch for a few years has lengthened my life. After all we cats were never meant to eat cooked, sweetened and additive-laden food.

My keeper has read many alternative health books, and when he compared his diet to ones that create this condition [back pain, indigestion, headaches, flatulence, shortage of breath, low energy levels], he kept wondering what was happening. After all, the main culprits are fat, sugar, salt [what a surprise], dairy products, red meat, and lack of fruit and vegetables and some mineral and vitamin deficiency. He hardly eats any fat or salt, takes no sugar, avoids dairy products, only eats fish and has loads of fruit and vegetables.

During his ‘healing’, many memories and seemingly random issues have come up. He has worked out unless he is working professionally, he can take on other people’s pain.  Both my keepers have spent a lot of time in a divided country, Cyprus. Cyprus also took on thousands of refugees from the one of the worst atrocities in the last two centuries, the Armenian genocide. Guess what? He took a deep interest in it. He also has a number of personal issues to deal with, surrounding his adoption.

Milo and I have taken it upon ourselves to help. Being near him, purring and showing more affection than normal, we have made a difference, which he has acknowledged.

You can kill yourself eventually through eating rubbish. But you can do it much quicker through the stress that accumulates in your cells.

My keeper’s sister-in-law told my female keeper that his [birth] mother had a similar bout of ill-health some years ago, in almost identical circumstances.

Now, the traditionalists amongst you will seize upon this to label everything I’ve said as evidence for genetic determinism. That is, our genetic coding predicts who and what we are.

However, you will be ignoring cellular memory. That is, all our cells have memories from our whole ancestral line. And unlike the eugenics fanatics [they are alive and kicking and running the planet] who want to cull most of you humans, epigeneticists can prove cellular memory can easily be changed.

However you don’t need to learn epigenetics. Just check out my keepers [www.thehealingcodes.co.uk] and Alex Loyd’s site [www.thehealingcodes.com], read about ‘curing’ fatal diseases and helping my animal siblings. Buy the book for around £10.

We cats get stressed. Most of it comes from you. People don’t just die and get ill. Stress is the cause. Don’t just take my word for it. Do your research. This has been known since time began.

If you value us, start valuing yourselves, and get rid of your stress. Managing and coping makes it worse.

I know it’s not good for me, but my dish is looking suspiciously empty. See you next month.

Jimmy

A Cats Prayer

Lead me down all the right paths,
Keep me from fleas, bees, and baths.
Let me in should it storm,
Keep me safe, fed, and warm.
