TIMBER'S DIARIES

Timber

March 1, Wednesday 2006:

This morning Mommy's annoying alarm clock woke me up, as it always does Monday-Friday.  It has to wake her up so she can be on time to go to something called 'school'.  When she wakes up she always pushes the covers down, and it makes sort of a nest.  It is quite cosy!  I snuggled down and slept till lunchtime.

I woke up and went down to have something to eat.  Smelled a salmon flavour on my way down the steps, and hurried down.  I ate every scrap and licked the bowl clean.

After I ate, I went upstairs and settled in Mommy's big silky pink chair. I have just started appreciating this chair, as I did not realize how comfy it was.  Sadly, though, I wish I had started to like it earlier.  'Cause if I had done that, Mommy would have let it become my chair and not sit in it herself all the time!

This evening, Mommy came home and gave me some love and then went upstairs to do her schoolwork.  I always wish I could ask her; "Why don't you just call it homework?!  I mean it is at HOME!!!!!"  But then of course we would have to have a talk about why that’s not a nice thing to say.  That would completely ruin my day so I decided not to.

Later, I went to lie down on Mommy's bed (I secretly refer to it as my bed.)  She'd gone downstairs to eat her bedtime snack.  Then I decided I wanted to lie in the pink chair so I moved over there.  Later she came up and lay down.  I got up and snuck around the side of the bed. <sneaky smile>

I got ready to make the loudest boom from jumping onto the bed I've ever made!  I pulled up all my force and took off!!!!  I landed like right in her face and when she jumped she nearly fell out of bed!  I could feel already what she was going to say.  Hold it, hold it, here it comes... "Timber Lynn Wasko!  Are you trying to make me have a heart attack?!" she said in a hoarse whisper.  I walked over to the pink chair like I hadn't even heard her.  I was very, very, very, pleased with myself!

<fake sleeping, with small muffled giggles>

March 12, Sunday 2006:

I woke up curled up to my Mommy this morning, feeling very laid back and comfy!  <ahhh...> But as I was about to get even more comfortable, Mommy woke up.  <humph>

She got up and got out her Nintendo D.S.!  She has this 'DOG GAME' on it, and it's a game about taking care of a dog!  It is so annoying!  They bark all the time and steal attention away from me!  And they’re not even real dogs!!!!!

Well, after Mommy was done playing 'Nintendogs', she went downstairs to have breakfast, I stayed upstairs and took a nap.

I woke up a little later, and realized I had slept till 1:00!  And plus my Mommy wasn't the only person in the room!  Her friend Julia was here.  She's pretty nice, except... she doesn't like cats that much!!!!  Her favourite animal is a horse!  I hate those animals; once my Mommy came home smelling like their waste, and I laughed my head off!!!  I guess she didn't know because she gave me a very bewildered look.  Well anyways, back to the story!

Mommy was trying to get me to chase her, like she does when we play our game.  (As advised by my friend, Ollie's mum, Pauline, because I am a bit plump.)  Well since it involves grabbing, chasing, and exposing of the tummy, I wouldn't do it while a stranger was here.  She was trying to get me to do it so Julia could see.  Since I wasn't doing it she was getting kind of agitated and shoving me way too harshly for my taste.  So I followed my instincts.  I bit Mommy on the leg.  And I regretted it the second I did it, because Mommy yelped!  I hid under the bed very ashamed of myself.

I must have dozed off because I woke up past my Mommy's bedtime (9:00).  I jumped on the bed, licked her face and curled up next to her.  And even though she was asleep, I'm sure she knew I was sorry!

March 23, Thursday 2006:

I woke up with Mommy this morning and yawned.  <ahhh...> She got dressed and went to brush her teeth.  When she came back in I jumped up on her dresser to look at the frogs on there, I know she hates this!  <hee hee...>

So, she got up and pulled me off and set me down.

Then, I got back up on there, and she came and pulled me off.

So, I got up there again, and again, she pulled me off.  <ha ha ha!>

So, since she was getting a little agitated, I did it again!

She pulled me off.

I got up, and she pulled me off.

So then, since I was bored with this I went and padded at the posters that needed to be put up.  <hee hee...>   Oh, now she was getting pretty mad.  "Timber you better stop right now! If you don't you’re leaving my room!"

<ohhh...>  This sounds like a challenge!  So I got up on the dresser.  But, before I could run she pulled me off, and set me down outside her door, and shut it.  <humph>  How could she kick me out of her room, I was just playing!

So then I got ready for the biggest and saddest (fake) meow I had ever made!  "MEOWWWWWWWWWWWWW"

The door suddenly open and Mommy, with an ashamed, yet sad, look on her face said "Oh, Timber, don't be such a pest and I will let you in.  But, don't try and fool me with those fake meows!"

Okay, I need to work on my meows, but I was forgiven!

March 29, Wednesday 2006:

Today I woke up to Mommy's stupid alarm clock!  And followed her downstairs, may I not forget that I tripped her because she was going WAY TO SLOW!  <ha ha ha!>

Then she left to go to this thing called school and I went and ate breakfast.

I slept all day because I had a tummy ache and, well, I don't want to talk about it.

A Cat's Prayer'

Lead me down all the right paths,
Keep me from fleas, bees, and baths.
Let me in should it storm,
Keep me safe, fed, and warm.

Let the sun shine where I lay,
Keep me young so I may play.
And most of all ...
Bless the people I adore,
And guard me from the dog next door.

PRAISE FOR THE OCTOBER 2005 MEWSLETTER Thank you very much for another wonderful Mewsletter.  I look forward to it each month, and this month was especially fine.  There is enough in it to be able to read at leisure over several days, which sets it apart from many more compact sites, which are finished in a few minutes.  Your Mewsletter is more of a digest, which I can go back to for something new over and over again.  I appreciate very much the work that you put into it, and the contributions of all your feline staff.  Thanks to Ricky, I may even take up yoga.

All the best from rural Belgium, Jared Kline
