From Illinois, USA 4 year old Natasha's New Year Resolutions
“The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose, New feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes.” G. K. Chesterton
As I sat pondering making New Year Resolutions G. K. Chesterton’s words above echoed in my mind Soon I began wondering how I could accomplish this When I decided to look to one of my wise feline kind
Young Natasha had been born out in the cruel world She and her mother and her siblings had been homeless She now spends a lot of her time looking out the window Out into an extremely cruel world filled with so much stress
As I sat gazing at her peering out that frosted window I somehow began seeing the world through her feline soul Envisioning what her sage New Year Resolutions would be If she and the other animals of the world could make them so
The top of young Natasha’s New Year Resolution List Would probably be more Compassion to Earth’s needy Resolving to more freely share what we have with others To not be so egotistical, self centred, or extremely greedy
Second on Natasha’s Feline New Year Resolution List Would be to embrace Diversity in every shape, size, and form Resolving to put ourselves into another creature’s shoes so to speak And trying to comprehend, that every living being is part of the norm
Finally, on young Natasha’s Feline New Year Resolution List Would be Thankfulness for the many blessings we each receive Resolving to spread good will and good cheer, one being at a time Realizing we can all truly make a difference in life, if we just believe
To attempt to see life, As other living beings might see, Whether they are domesticated or wild, Has always a very beneficial exercise for me
