Reggie with the Scrumbles bagMy Exec P.A. appreciates that I need to take time out to do quite a bit of snoozing. So, she takes herself off to a place called work for a couple of hours, leaving me ample time to catch up with my beauty sleep. I often dream of my time as a Champion Stud cat when I was a younger chap before I lost my ‘jewels’!

She works at a radio station and as part of her programme she gets ‘freebies’. Things to review, samples to try and bits and bobs to bring home. Because she won the BBC Campaign for Great British food (before my time at Tom Cat Towers) most of the stuff she tries and then talks about are food and drink related. I do assist with her work. I sniff all the goodies she reviews, and offer my opinion, but I never try anything. I supervise her when she is rattling out interviews on her computer or answering fan emails. When she is having people round for a cuppa and a chat, I am the perfect host. While she spends hours on the phone talking to her manager, I lie on the bed and she tickles my tummy.  I am her support team!!

So it was with some curiosity that Gabion and I  found a large bag of Scrumbles which she had bought back from the National Pet Show in Stafford.  She had gone there to carry out interviews with all sorts of people who were at the show. She also met and cuddled some of the cats, but I was OK with that. I know she’ll never be unfaithful to me!

She had heard about Scrumbles and thought that we may like then but she hadn’t seen them in the shops as yet.

She has never come across a product which my daft bruv; Gabion Tzchugge and I both like and was keen to let us try Scrumbles. So, when she saw the Scrumbles stand at the Pet Show she went over and cuddled Smudge, the Company's adorable and very well-behaved pooch and to talk to Aneish and Jack about the kibbles.   She came away with a sample for us to try

Gabion putting his nose into the Scrumbles bag while I look onGabion found the bag of Scrumbles first, and thought they smelt divine, even though the bag was sealed. He drooled, did some loving round the bag and tried to open it with his teeth. He couldn’t wait to get at them!  I have a much better pedigree, and manners so I sat patiently and waited till our human opened the bag and poured some of the kibbles out.

I sniffed them, and they smelt  exquisite, clearly these were kibbles to be savoured, kibbles that had been designed and made with me in mind. Kibbles to be enjoyed.

I delicately hoovered a few into my mouth and started crunching. They were DELISH!!!!  Gabes tried to push me off and get his nose into our Wedgwood ‘Angela’ dish, so I gave him a very hard stare. I would have growled but my mouth was full of Scrumbles.  Human then (sensibly) put a small dish down for Gabion and he dived straight into them. He ate them so fast they fell from the dish onto the floor and he then had to tidy them up with his mouth!  Then he wanted more and shamelessly floozied round the human hoping to get more Scrumbles.

Reggie with a dish of ScrumblesI ate every single one and then licked the dish clean in an attempt to get every last bit of the flavour. Gabes had golloped his down and was now sitting staring very intently at my dish in the hope I would wander off and leave some for him. No chance!!

However, my human has now put some in a little pot by our bed. At 6am when I jump on her chest for our daily review of what our itinerary will be, I purr and she chatters away whilst feeding me Scrumbles one at a time. They are now my purrsonal treat before we start the day.

So, all in all, Gabion and I give scrumptious Scrumbles ten out of ten for taste and a happy paws up for deliciousness!  My human was delighted. Gabion is Prince Picky Pantaloons and sooo hard to please, so finding something he enjoyed was brilliant.

Now we have discovered Scrumbles, I  love them. Trouble is as Gabion loves them too I now have to share! Something I’m not too happy about.

A Morning Kiss

A morning kiss, a discreet touch of his nose landing somewhere on the middle of my face.
Because his long white whiskers tickled, I began every day laughing.
