A ‘strordinary thing happened the other day.  Mum received a package in the post and she when she opened it, she took out something, wrapped in green tissue paper with a label which said: ‘Play with me!’ She took the label off, unwrapped the tissue paper and there was something which was called a ‘Tartarian honeysuckle slab’.  She gave one to me and one to Casey.  I ran away from mine, but Casey became like a thing possessed.  He licked it, he rubbed his head all over it, he rolled from side to side and back again.  I watched from a safe distance in case I did it. He doesn’t do playing, as you know. He has ‘intimacy’ issues so rarely will you see Casey doing anything other than sleeping or eating, so to see him behaving like, well, like a cat, was pretty incredible – and very funny.

When no one was looking I had a little lick of mine.  And the weird thing is that once I’d licked a tiny little bit, my tongue came right out – all by itself – and licked it again and again and again.  In the end, I was rolling all over the place. I couldn’t help it – but Mum didn’t mind.  As usual, she was taking lots of pictures of us with her camera.

By now though, Casey had fallen asleep with a soppy smile on his face.  And not long afterwards, so did I.
