Maid seems very excited. For some strange reason she has placed a plastic tree with funny things hanging from it on the small table in the lounge. Items wrapped in coloured paper have started to appear by it, having first been shaken and squeezed by Maid.  Depressingly some parcels look like human catnip; champagne.

Small parcels have also been appearing on the mat in the hallway, shoved through the door by a human called Postie. They do have an aura of catnip about them. I really don't know what all this is about but I do recall the same sort of thing happening last year. I don't really do curious but I did sit under the table and supervise the proceedings remotely before my eyes became too heavy.

Maid had scissors in her hand and I am always mindful of my whiskers when I see scissors. She was wrapping more bits and pieces in gaily coloured paper and seemed quite chatty with me. The house was nice and warm and Gingie-crew were tucked up in their big snoozzee fast asleep with Mikey-Mike. The excitement became too much, I wonder if Maid has been indulging in that human catnip; champagne? That always makes her silly. With a big yawn I trotted back to my designer duvet and snuggled up by the pillows where the warmth from the radiators envelopes my fur in quite a luxurious way.

When I woke up it was quite dark and the house seemed quiet, I went to find Maid and was quite startled to find that the lounge had been transformed. There were twinkly lights all round the room, even Gingie-crew were awake, their heads poking sleepily from out of the snoozzee. Even Mikey-Mike seemed quite excited at the proceedings.

Maid arrived in the kitchen with carrier bags full of shopping I went to investigate, giving Mikey-Mike a hard stare as I passed his trampy body. Maid had a couple of bags with slices of meat which she chopped up and placed in a bowl before me, but anything that was offered to me which is human food is simply not acceptable, when will she learn?

Needless to say Gingie-crew rolled up in the kitchen together and gobbled everything up. Then Mikey-Mike came Christmas Caroling for his supper. So, starved, I made my way back to my designer duvet and curled up for a good night’s sleep.

Maid’s version!

Nearly Christmas, the decorations are up, presents wrapped and lots of turkey off-cuts from the local deli for my mogsters to enjoy, with the exception of Madam who turned her nose up at the finest quality turkey, rather rude really as all the girls on the deli counter always ask after her snootiness!

Presents have started to come for the cats from their fans, so they have been hastily shoved in a cupboard. I get the distinct whiff of catnip from all the presents with the cat’s name on them so they will be hidden and saved for Christmas Day!! I think even Mikey-Mike will have a present from Santa Paws.
