IT'S
OK TO MISS THE BED ON THE FIRST JUMP

 It's
Okay To Miss The Bed On The First Jump (and other life lessons I learned from
dogs) by John O’Hurley is a very funny but insightful book which had me laughing
out loud and smiling almost continuously. Being a confirmed cat person but
loving ALL animals, it’s easy to see why John’s great affection for his dogs has
spilt over into his writing and he has taken what he knows and written a book
around it.
Each chapter
has a heading which relates to dog behaviour. John expounds in great humorous
detail giving short analogies of his own dogs’ behaviour or that of dogs he’s
met in his life and then relates that to our own human behaviour. John shares
lessons that he has learned from his life with his canine companions.
It’s very
well written and a clever idea. It will also help the reader to better
understand not only why their pet dog does what it does, but also why we all do
what we do.
