| Pet Food Recall - Details and Options |
For those not watching the news, there's been a MAJOR recall
on all brands of pet food - both dog and cat. I've placed the recall list
with all brands listed at the end of this update. Please take a minute to
review it - if you are feeding any of them, STOP! Dogs and cats are dying
from reactions to this food. While the recall appears to be mostly limited
to wet/canned food, it has been changed several times this week already, so
I'm not taking chances.
As these food recalls appear to be an ongoing issue lately, I'm going to
break my rule about not reviewing / recommending foods and tell you about a
brand of food that I believe is MUCH better for your pets. The drawback is
that it is only available online, but the up-side is that they offer free
shipping, so the cost is similar to other foods and they actually ship
directly to your home saving you weekly trips for pet food. The name of the
food is "

here. Here is a link for a
free sample of the food so your pets can test it out for themselves.
As those of you who subscribe to PetsWeekly,
or are avid readers of the site, you know, I do not generally recommend
foods. However, with the recent turn of events, I feel it is my
responsibility to let everyone know about both the recall and alternative
solutions for your pet. While there are many other solutions as well (raw
diets, different brands, etc), this is a cost-effective, very healthy
alternative that you may wish to explore. It contains no byproducts, wheat
or corn - so no worries for those who have pets with allergies.
And here is the information on the
recall: (dogs
listed first, then
cats, so please check each list for your brand!). As I mentioned, it
primarily applies to wet/canned foods - but its been expanded several times
this week already, so please take the necessary precautions. We'll have an
update on
PetsWeekly soon, but I wanted to make sure my readers were aware of this
issue as we only update weekly!
