PAWS AND CLAWS

First, I must
explain what a Paws and Claws member is.
In September 2007, Ms. Anne Young organized a reliable group of pre-teens
interested in volunteering at the local shelter (Exploits Valley SPCA) ranging
from the ages of 12-14, I myself was a junior volunteer the year before and Ms.
Young decided we should have a distinctive name rather than just being known as
"Juniors". We managed to agree on a name, the "Paws and Claws".
The members are
usually responsible for one shift, every second week; we complete an evening of
work which consists of cleaning the runs, cages and floors, feeding the animals
and spending some well needed time with all of them. We also do the laundry and
wash dishes and most definitely, we scoop poop!
In January 2008,
I asked Ms. Young if she needed a hand with the meetings and fundraisers, so she
agreed. I, myself have become actively involved; working one on one with the
animals and the members, organizing meetings and scheduling the shifts. It
really is a joy to have such involvement with the community and I know that I am
working towards a good cause. My love and appreciation for animals can be seen
by the senior members and other Paws and Claws members.
I must also mention,
it is a pleasure having to speak with Pauline* about my love of animals and my
dedication to the Exploits Valley SPCA Paws and Claws.

2005 MEWSLETTER
Thank you very much for another wonderful Mewsletter. I look
forward to it each month, and this month was especially fine.
There is enough in it to be able to read at leisure over several
days, which sets it apart from many more compact sites, which
are finished in a few minutes. Your Mewsletter is more of a
digest, which I can go back to for something new over and over
again. I appreciate very much the work that you put into it,
and the contributions of all your feline staff. Thanks to
