MEWSLETTER 8: March 24, 2003
by Pauline Dewberry

Hi Everyone!
A
very warm welcome to my new subscribers. What beautiful Spring weather we've
been having here in the UK recently! It makes a huge change from the rain we're
normally blessed with. All the flowers are making their appearances after their
long winter's nap and it's so rewarding to look out of the window to see all the
Mewsers walking down the garden path sniffing and enjoying each new flower.
Ollie has finally put paw to keyboard and
written the first part of his diaries. You can find it here:
http://www.thedailymews.com/articles/kittendiaries.htm
and there is a picture of him at the window on our home page.
In last month's MEWSLETTER, I mentioned
the article I posted on dealing with grief. So many of you (and others visitors
to the site) wrote and told me how much they could identify with the feelings I
expressed. Death is a difficult subject to write about, but it is a part of life
and as such has to be written about. I'm glad that my experiences have helped
others not to feel guilty about the level of grief they feel when their own
beloved companion passes away. We all
grieve in different ways and it helps to
know that we're not alone in this experience.
I also posted a couple of poems I wrote at
the time of Biggles and Joey's deaths. You'll find these on the PURRFECT POETRY
page:
http://www.thedailymews.com/poems/sayinggoodbye.htm
and
http://www.thedailymews.com/poems/joey.htm
Two other poems (based on true stories
concerning Biggles ) which were published in poetry anthologies can also be
found on the PURRFECT POETRY page:
http://www.thedailymews.com/poems/cattricks.htm
and
http://www.thedailymews.com/poems/dietersbestfriend.htm
I hope you enjoy them.
And finally, on the subject of grief, if
you go to FELINE FITNESS you'll find an article helping you to cope with your
feelings and how to help any siblings or 'house' mates - please click here:
http://www.thedailymews.com/articles/grief.htm
I do value your feedback and look forward
to hearing your news and views. If there is a subject you would like covered and
published on the website, please let me know.
Enjoy the lovely Spring sunshine. And
we'll see you in a couple of weeks. Till then, take care and have a PURRFECT
week!
With love from all the MEWSERS: Garfield
(who celebrates his 17th birthday on Thursday 27th March), Charlie, Billy,
Timmy, Sam, Ricky and Ollie.
Your Editor and Feline Friend
Pauline

A Cat's Prayer'
Lead me down all the right paths,
Keep me from fleas, bees, and baths.
Let me in should it storm,
Keep me safe, fed, and warm.
Let the sun shine where I lay,
Keep me young so I may play.
And most of all ...
Bless the people I adore,
And guard me from the dog next door.

PRAISE FOR THE OCTOBER
2005 MEWSLETTER
Thank you very much for another wonderful Mewsletter. I look
forward to it each month, and this month was especially fine.
There is enough in it to be able to read at leisure over several
days, which sets it apart from many more compact sites, which
are finished in a few minutes. Your Mewsletter is more of a
digest, which I can go back to for something new over and over
again. I appreciate very much the work that you put into it,
and the contributions of all your feline staff. Thanks to
Ricky, I may even take up yoga.
All the best from rural Belgium, Jared Kline |
