MEWSLETTER 1: June 25, 2002
by Pauline Dewberry

Hi Everyone
Here it is at last! Our first MEWSLETTER under our new website host. Thanks to a
dear friend who did all the transferring of the entire site's contents, we're up
in business a lot sooner than if I had done it all by myself. The look isn't too
different from the way it was before, but please let me know what you think.
I'm
still learning the ropes but managed to write up an article which I think you'll
enjoy reading.
http://www.thedailymews.com/articles/gardeningfeline.htm
I hope to get more organised as the weeks
go by and before too long you'll never know there was an interruption to our
services.
All the cats are well but remember to keep
a check on fleas. Each summer the vet tells us that this summer is the worst
they have ever known for fleas. There are lots of different products on the
market which will keep fleas at bay and remember to treat your home as well as
your pets. Spray with a recommended brand all the places where your cat likes to
snooze and don't forget the carpets.
If your cat is an outdoor cat, check also
for bites which could become infected and turn into abscesses. Also, if you
notice your cat continually shaking his head, check that he hasn't got a grass
seed in his ear. DO NOT try and take this out yourself. The inside of a cat's
ear is very delicate. Take your cat immediately to a vet who will know how to
remove the grass seed carefully and probably put some soothing antibiotic cream
in the ear.
If you have any stories that you would
like to share with other readers on
www.thedailymews.com please send them by email. And if you have any tips
that you'd like to offer, any helpful products, or solutions to any feline
problems - we all want to know! I have some ideas for future surveys and maybe a
rogue's gallery and if there is something that you would like to see on the
daily mews, then please let me know.
A few of you have recently lost your dear
little companions and through this MEWSLETTER I would just like you to know that
you are in thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
Take care and until the next time, have a
PURRFECT week!
