Because his long white

'Cats make one of the most satisfying sounds in the world: they purr
... A purring cat is a form of high praise, like a gold star on a test
paper. It is reinforcement of something we would all like to believe
about ourselves - that we are nice.' - Roger A Caras
"Of all the [cat] toys available, none is better designed than the
owner himself. A large multipurpose plaything, its parts can be made to
move in almost any direction. It comes completely assembled, and it
makes a noise when you jump on it." -- Stephen Baker

ARE SOME EASY TO MAKE COOKIES FOR YOUR CATS AND DOGS THIS HALLOWEEN
For Cats, some easy Kitty Kookies:
1 cup whole-wheat flour
1 6-ounce can tuna in oil (do not drain)
1 tablespoon oil
1 egg
Mix all ingredients in a mixing
bowl, adding a little water if dough is too stiff. On a lightly floured surface,
roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into shapes with your favourite cookie
cutter, or use a pizza cutter to cross-cut into small diamond shapes. Place on
ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until firm. Store
in an airtight container.
For Dogs, healthy Pumpkin Cookies:
- 1½ cups whole wheat flour
- 1 ½ cups unbleached flour
- 2 tablespoons dry milk
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
Use your bread machine to mix
the dough, or your mixer with a dough hook, or mix by hand.
- Place all the ingredients in your bread maker and set
it for the dough cycle.
- When the dough is done, remove it and roll it into
1/4-inch thick sheets.
- Use bone-shaped cookie cutters, or a pizza cutter to
cut the dough into squares or diamonds.
- Place the dog cookies on a lightly greased pan, and
let them rise for an hour.
- Bake the dog treats for 45 minutes to an hour, at 275
degrees F.
- Turn off the oven, and let the cookies continue to dry
overnight in the oven. In the morning, they will be hard and crisp. And they
will keep well, stored in an airtight container, at room temperature, for
about 30 days.
