5 GOOD REASONS FOR
HAVING YOUR CAT NEUTERED
DID YOU KNOW... |
Images brought to you by
'The
smallest feline is a masterpiece.' Leonardo da Vinci

Cats take a message and get back to you.'

A morning kiss, a discreet
touch of his nose landing
somewhere on the middle
of my face.
Because his long white
whiskers tickled,
I began every day laughing.

have owners. Cats have staff.'
'In
the middle of a world that has always been a bit mad, the cat walks with
confidence.'

'Cats make one of the most satisfying sounds in the world: they purr
... A purring cat is a form of high praise, like a gold star on a test
paper. It is reinforcement of something we would all like to believe
about ourselves - that we are nice.' - Roger A Caras
"Of all the [cat] toys available, none is better designed than the
owner himself. A large multipurpose plaything, its parts can be made to
move in almost any direction. It comes completely assembled, and it
makes a noise when you jump on it." -- Stephen Baker

TRIBUTE TO SNOOKIE
by Trudi Rosie (UK)

March 2005 - May 2006
My life is empty and here is why
I loved someone once who was
wicked and sly
Loving and charming and sweet as
can be
Who else but my Snookie could
that be?
His purrs would sound with sweet
delight
And we would love both day and
night
To play and cuddle and sit and
look
Never such looks as I got from
my Snook
So till I am very old and grey
No-one can take his place away
From where he stays still in my
heart
Playing forever in his golden
years
*****
I haven’t got any words for
someone so silky, so loving, so beautiful except one – Snookie.
That word meant love and
youthful joy and innocence and all the good things we should all be.
He would follow Mum and I around
and just enjoy being in the same room as us. When my mother was recovering from
an operation back at home and the Care Nurse from the hospital came to put Mum
through her exercises, Snookie would follow them everywhere to make sure the
nurse wasn’t harming Mum. He’d follow Mum step for step up and down the stairs.
Once he knew we didn’t need him
there, he’d then go out.
He once reached up from my lap
to put his arms round my neck to give me a hug. No other cat has done that
before. He was a very special little boy.
And he had his own chair – which
just happened to be the two-seater settee!
Any visitor who came into the
house was warmly greeted and investigated - he met a Nun whose wimple was
baffling to him – and my best friend’s 3 year old boy fascinated him. Snookie
followed him all round the house and wanted to smell his head. Someone so small
must have been so intriguing to him. They played ball all afternoon together
very nicely.
I just can’t believe he’s gone.
No-one could wish for a more
caring, charming creature than him. God bless him.
Snookie seemed to
understand when I needed comfort or was tired or when things weren’t quite right
and was always there with a cuddle.
He was a true friend
to both Mum and I.

A
Cat's Prayer'
Lead me down all the right paths,
Keep me from fleas, bees, and baths.
Let me in should it storm,
Keep me safe, fed, and warm.
Let the sun shine where I lay,
Keep me young so I may play.
And most of all ...
Bless the people I adore,
And guard me from the dog next door.
