SAD NEWS: JUNE 12 2006
Dear Everyone
Last night I sent out the
Mewsletter and the response from you to the awful news I had to tell you has
been absolutely amazing. I’m totally overwhelmed with the outpouring of love
that you’ve sent my way.
I can’t believe what I’m going
to tell you next because I’m having a very hard time believing it myself.
Earlier this evening, Garfield
had to be put to sleep. The vet took one look at him and said it was time to let
him go. He’d had a particularly bad weekend, and had deteriorated considerably
and this morning he was much worse, so with great reluctance I arranged a late
appointment this evening. I think in my heart I knew this might be the trip but
you always hope that there will be another magic injection to perk him up again.
I held Garfield in my arms, and
told him how much I loved him, and will always love him, and he licked my face -
and then he was gone.
I don‘t need to tell you exactly
how I’m feeling because many of you have been there. I’m completely numb – and
devastated.
Please keep little Timmy in your
prayers because he’ll miss caring for his best friend, Garfield, and I’m not
going to be around to help him through his grief, or that of the others.
Take care, and tomorrow when I
get back from the hospital, I’ll send out details of the hospital if you want to
write to me.
