SHORT STORY COMPETITION
The Daily Mews is proud to present a new short story competition. Can you write a feline related story or poem?
Short stories can be up to 1,000 words and poems can be up to 20 lines long. You can choose your own topic but here are some suggestions: The best cat in the world What your cat means to you Has your cat done something extraordinary which has touched other people’s lives as well as your own? Has your cat overcome enormous obstacles: health, adversity, etc to be the cat it is today? Does your cat have any life-threatening illnesses which limit its life? What has your cat taught you about life?
You retain all copyright to your work and if chosen as the winning entry, it will only be used in conjunction with this competition. You can submit up to three pieces of work for consideration and a free appraisal will be given if requested. You do not have to be a published author to enter; any one can enter and this first competition is absolutely free. There may be a small fee for subsequent short story competitions in the future. Email entries must be submitted by August 21st 2009. Winners will be announced in a future issue of the Mewsletter and the winning entries (one short story and one poem) will be published on the Daily Mews website. A prize will be given for each winning entry. Send your entries to p.dewberry@ntlworld.com Good luck! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* |
